CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest 2013 – GMC Brief [w/Video]

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Get your sketchbooks and markers ready, because that time is again upon us: the 2013 CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest.

Launching this Friday, this year's contest once again challenges design students from across North America to take on one of four briefs from GMC, Buick, Chevrolet or Cadillac. You can enter designs in different briefs, but be aware there's only two months to develop proposals before the shortlist is announced.

In the CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest, students display and update their proposals on the competition's website. Interactivity comes into play as peers critique submissions while GM mentors guide and support throughout.

This year's briefs focus on the development of each brand for the year 2025 and involve the creation of a number of different elements, from exterior and interior designs to packaging proposals and market studies.

The four winners will earn themselves a three-month paid internship at one of GM's design studios.

Each day this week we'll be releasing details on each of the brand's briefs in a countdown to the opening of the official interactive site.

Brief One: GMC

‘Design a unique GMC crossover or truck entry for 2025 that explores the expression of one of GMC's unique trim level sub brands: Denali, the ultimate expression of professional grade; or All-Terrain, the technical expression of professional grade.'

Tomorrow we'll announce details of Buick's brief as we count down to the launch of the 2013 CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest.
